"Perhaps the best way to describe Midnight Conversations is it’s a touch of classical.
The newly-released CD, a collaborative effort of guitarist Lloyd Bartlett and cellist Heather Tuach of Corner Brook, was selected as (2004)best classical recording during the Music Industry Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (MIANL) annual awards gala in St. John’s.

The record consists of original compositions by Bartlett, who has no formal classical music training and acknowledges his gentle fingerpicking style is simply suggestive of the classical vein. Yet, the pieces found on Midnight Conversations are given an authentic classical touch by the artistry of Tuach, a cellist who has performed all around the world.

Nonetheless, the soothing mixture of the soft nylon string sound emanating from Bartlett’s classical guitar blended with the deep, colourful tones created by Tuach’s mastery of her instrument give meaning to the title selection of the CD."
