Info:
Betty was born in Riverside, Albert County, New Brunswick into a musically talented family. She was the youngest of five children who were all singers and most of which played musical instruments. She grew up on Grindstone Island in the Bay of Fundy where her father Wainwright (Pappy) Weston was the lighthouse keeper. Pappy was recently inducted into the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame for his contribution to old-time fiddling. She started singing at the age of five at local concerts, churches, and county fairs. Her family also toured New Brunswick at that time doing concerts. While taking time out to raise a family, she now feels the time is right to follow her dream of singing again. She has appeared many times at the Playhouse Theatre in Fredericton where she now resides. In addition, she has appeared at the Country Junction in Fredericton, the Sussex Valley Jamboree, and the Imperial Theatre in Saint John.
Her roots will always be in Albert County where she also has another home and it's here that she continues to sing and write several songs on subjects close to the heart. Betty plays guitar and is currently taking fiddle lessons.
Recently she has released her first recording entitled 'Feedback' and on this has included a number written in memory of her brother who died suddenly in 1998. Also on this release is one of her dad's compositions called 'The Fundy Waltz'.
